Our Alumni are PJA Proud!

Our alumni often credit their success in high school and beyond to their time spent at PJA. PJA alumni reflect on the deep thinking encouraged by their teachers; the hands-on projects they collaborated on with peers; and the support they received from teachers to be their best selves. We are so very proud of the contributions they make to their communities and the world.

William Sweek

"I probably think about PJA several times each week, always with fondness and delight. I spent nine years there, from pre-K through 8th grade, and felt like I was a member of a family there throughout my childhood."

Even though I've graduated from college now, I have held onto the lessons that PJA gave me about community and family. PJA helped me develop a worldview beyond the classroom and instilled a sense of personal responsibility to others.

Amelia Wolf

“PJA teachers taught me to hold my own ideas in high esteem, that my voice had value, and (this is thanks to Harriet Wingard especially) that anything worth learning is worth writing about - and creatively at that.”

“At PJA, asking questions was always encouraged and appreciated by teachers. This gave me the confidence to advocate for myself and take control of my education throughout high school.”
