Will PJA resume in-person learning in the fall of 2020?

It is our sincere hope and intention to resume classes on campus in the fall. Like all institutions, we are continuing to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and are modeling different scenarios for how best to move ahead. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. PJA will follow directives from the State Government and Oregon Health Authority. As we plan for the 2020-21 school year, PJA will remain in close contact with educational consortiums and organizations that will help guide us through that planning process including PRIZMAH, the Jewish Day School consortium, and Northwest Association of Independent Schools which is our accrediting organization.
 

What options exist for families who have been, or will be, financially impacted by the pandemic?

If you are in need of emergency Tuition Assistance for next year due to a change in your family’s financial circumstances, we encourage you to fill out the Tuition Assistance Application to request emergency, temporary aid. If you received a Tuition Assistance award for the 2020-21 school year and need to request additional emergency, temporary aid due to the financial impacts of the pandemic on your family, please email Beth Germain at bgermain@pjaproud.org with your request.
 

When will school start in the fall?

The Day School program (K-8th grades) will begin on September 1, 2020.
 

What options are available for summer camps and/or summer enrichment programs?

PJA will be offering a selection of online summer enrichment classes taught by PJA teachers. The MJCC is offering day camp for children in K - 6th grades. Find out more about JCC day camp here.

Will there be east side bus transportation next year?

As of now, we are still planning to provide bus transportation following all guidelines provided by the Oregon Health Authority.
 

Will PJA provide Afterschool Programs in the 2020-21 school year? 

We will determine whether or not we can operate our afterschool programs after we receive guidance from the state authorities.
 

When will PJA open the Early Childhood Division? 

The Early Childhood Department will operate a summer session for a reduced number of children already enrolled in the Infant/Toddler and Preschool programs.
