Leapfrog (ages 4-6)

Art Takes Nature as a Model
- Aristotle Part I

Spend the week in the Outdoor Classroom and be inspired by nature! Take nature walks, collect natural items to make mandalas, do nature weaving and create flower fairies. Explore patterns, make nature's paintbrushes and more!

Coco: Follow your Dreams
Come and learn more about Miguel’s Mexican heritage through art, music, Spanish and more! Learn how to make some traditional art from Mexico, like paper marigolds, papel picada, and even make your own magical guitar. We will be wrapping up the week with a fiesta!

Into the Human Body
Ms. Frizzle and her young scientists will make blood, expand lungs and learn about fire safety. Take a field trip to Doernbecher’s Safety Center, ride the Tram and much more!

Land of Unicorns & Rainbows

Come join Ms. Frizzle and explore the magical/mystical “Land of Unicorns and Rainbows.” Our Journey includes unicorn tales, rainbow science, art and much more.

Moana: Island Adventure
PART I & Part II

Explore the call of the ocean with our favorite Island Chief, Moana! Make tomato jeweled crabs, leis and heart of Ta fiti stones. Come learn different ways to dance and express yourself. The week will end with a class luau, complete with fruit kabobs!

Musical Journeys
Explore many styles of music and music-making! Come sing, listen, explore musical instruments, and build your own. Sing as a group, listen to music from around the world and learn from guest musicians. There will be a performance of songs we’ve learned at the end of the week!

Theater: Fairytale Mix-up!
This class is for kids who want a chance to shine in front of a group. We will use fairy tale characters and mix them up for a whole new play. Make costumes, sets/props and learn about developing a character and putting on a show. Invite your family and friends to watch at the end of the week.

Stepping Stone (entering grades 1-3)

Captain PJApants
Come enjoy unlikely adventures in this comic book writing, slightly inappropriate, week based on the hilarious series, “Captain Underpants!” Make snot slime, your own Cape and Hipno rings. This class promises not to “Stink-A-Lot”!

Chemistry for Kids
Learn how different properties interact, combine and change through fun and hands-on experiments. We’ll melt metal with our hands, create tin hedgehogs, and learn how to dye our own cloth. Experience water science as we desalinate seawater to drink. Study and make ferrofluid, elephants toothpaste and more!

Experiment: Light and Dark
Can worms see light? What affects your shadow? Have you ever thought about what light sources create the brightest light? Explore light and darkness through experimentation, building and creating.

Delicious dishes start with great ingredients. Split your time between the kitchen and the PJA Garden to plant, weed and harvest! We will use the harvest to create delicious and nutritious meals. If you like to cook, eat and get your hands dirty, this is the class for you.

Girl Powered STEM FUNdamentals with LEGOS® - Ages 6-10
Learn in a supportive environment for girls to build projects such as Snowmobiles, Towers, Catapults and Battletracks! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas! Note: Open to all and will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level.

Learn about the lives of these amazing animals in the wild and in our own backyards. Delve into the care of horses, amazing art projects, stories and games. A real horse will visit PJA. Come observe and ride it!

Bring your wand and get ready to learn about magical creatures. Delve into the origins
of mythical beasts and how to charm them. Activities include: magic tricks, reading, writing, drawing and creating. Real animals will visit!

Ninjaneering with LEGOS® Ages: 6-10
Enter the world of Ninjago and become an apprentice Ninjaneer! Learn the way of
Spinjitzu, build the Fire Temple, race Skull Trucks and encounter the mighty Dragon! This is an ideal way to prepare young Ninjaneers for the challenge of Ninjaneering Masters with LEGO® Materials.

The World of Balloon Animals

Comics! Graphic novels! Cartoons! Spend the week creating your own comics. Each day we will learn about a different genre of doodle based on favorite books. Take home a class zine at the end of the week.

Needle Felting: Fairy Garden
Create a world of wonder with wool. Sculpt fairies, gnomes, trees, flowers and mushrooms using specialized barbed needles to tangle and compact wool into artful creative toys.

Science never tasted so good. Learn about chemical reactions, make art supplies and bath products. Make homemade ice cream and butter. Test the acid in candy and so much more; all from food! All ingredients are Kosher.

Sew Wonderful
What skills do you need to sew simple projects? How can you add your sense of design to your project to make it your own? Come learn basic sewing skills on a sewing machine and sew three projects-- a pillowcase, a pencil case and a kippah. You can create your own project, too! Bring your machine.

Unicorns, Dragons and Bigfoots, OH MY!
Delve into folklore, legends and recorded sightings of these fascinating creatures and many more. We will look at the wampus cat, jackalopes, mothman and lake monsters. These stories will inspire exciting works of art and creative crafts.

Minecraft®: Redstone Engineering
Create machines using Redstone, one of Minecraft’s coolest technical features. Learn the basics of electronic circuitry and a little bit of computer programming. Learn the complexities of Redstone in a supportive environment, with an instructor who aims to make it easy to understand!

STEM Challenge with LEGOS® - Ages: 8-11
Gear up your engineering skills with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering and architecture projects such as: Forklifts, Houseboats, Mini Golf Courses and the London Tower Bridge Design and build as never before. Explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment.

All classes are Dragon Team opportunities! Do you see a class that interests you? Just pick your topic, pay, and register! Learn leadership skills by aiding the instructor, participating in class activities, and contributing your knowledge to young children. Each team member will receive a t-shirt and certificate of participation.
