PJA Afterschool is excited to reopen Kidscorner & Dragon's Den at PJA, Kidzone at Glencoe, and Kidspace at Forest Park!
Enrollment for all three programs is open. We continue to work with our partners at the Early Learning Division and Portland Public Schools on a safe and enriching reopening. Currently, all families are being enrolled to a waitlist in the order we receive enrollment forms. Children will be assigned to stable groups of 10-30 based on their grade levels, space available for distancing, and staff-child ratios. This website is a great resource for finding enrollment or other important forms, information about our programs, updates to our health and safety plan for reopening and more!
Due to health and safety recommendations to help stop the spread of COVID-19 along with staff challenges across the childcare industry, vacation care is currently being offered on a very limited basis. We will offer care on November 22nd & 23rd and again on December 20th, 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, & 29th. All other vacation care days will be decided on a case-by-case basis and announced to the community as early as possible. Vacation Care Tuition is still on hold. We hope to offer more vacation care days once cohort restrictions are relaxed and staffing levels allow for safe child-teacher ratios.
Working families deserve the comfort of knowing that their children are well cared for during the hours they cannot be at home with their families. PJA offers supervised before-school and/or afterschool care for children in Kindergarten through 7th and at the Portland Jewish Academy and at three local Portland Public Schools.

Each of our programs tries to balance free-choice play with structured-activities during the day in addition to offering time for students to work towards homework completion, active gross-motor games, enrichment projects and nutritious snacks. We work to build positive relationships between children and their families as well as our host school community.
We also offer:
Full-Day Care offered on most No-School Days
We try to balance these no-school days between fun and educational field trips as well as on-site theme days. We are typically able to run Full-Day care in three locations across the city in NW, SW & SE Portland. During Winter Break we are only open in SW & SE Portland. We are also able to be open on two Federal Holidays each school year, Veteran's Day and President's Day. Care only offered in SW Portland.
