Spotlights on...
Outdoor School is a time honored tradition experienced by most 6th grade students in the State of Oregon for over 60 years.
PJA 5th Grade students spent four days this week at Osprey Camp, an environmental educational program operated by Camp Solomon Schechter in Tumwater, Washington.
Recently, the kindergarten students at PJA took a deep dive into the topic of kibbutzim, gaining insight into the unique way of life in these communal settlements and creating their own Kibbutz Shokolad (Chocolate Kibbutz).
PJA’s Purim celebration highlights the ways in which our school focuses on providing leadership opportunities for students, emphasizes community-building across grade levels, lifts up student voices, and encourages students to find joy and meaning in our Jewish traditions.
It was an honor for us to host over 100 attendees at last Sunday’s PJA Work for the World Fair, an event inspired by the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Every adult and child in attendance made a difference in our local and global community today.
March is proving to be an exciting month for our 1st grade artists! After demonstrating respectful use of the art studio over the winter, 1st graders voted overwhelmingly to explore papier-mâché as their art reward.
Yesterday we celebrated PJA’s first-ever Yom HaIvrit (Hebrew Day)! Our dedicated Hebrew teaching team worked together to envision and plan a day where the Hebrew language took center stage in our festivities.
Today we are Spotlighting a special first-grade activity coordinated by Safranit Molly, PJA’s full-time, certified librarian. Molly is an essential collaborative partner for teachers in every grade.
