Author Visit

Award winning author Amy Hest made a virtual visit to PJA Lower School on December 3rd - all the way from New York City! Amy Hest has written more than fifty books including the Plum Street series, the Charley books, Remembering Mrs. Rossi and When Jessie Came Across the Sea. Her newest book, The Summer We Found the Baby is being discussed as a contender for this year's Newbery Medal. Our visit with Amy was delightful. She read one of her picture books to us: In the Rain With Baby Duck. She shared that she loves dogs, stormy weather, tulips and (secretly) the Yankees. She told us that she has many important writing tools in her "office" but that the most important tool is in her kitchen: ice cream! Our PJA readers and writers asked many interesting questions and our time with Amy Hest flew by in a flash. It's lovely we can read her books to continue the conversation.
