Graduation and the End of the School Year

Graduation and the End of the School Year

We cannot count how many times we have said “unprecedented” in the last three months, and here we are saying it again. This year’s 8th Grade Graduation Celebration was unprecedented and unforgettable. It started with lawn signs for each one of our graduates delivered by their teachers. It continued with a car parade in the PJA parking lot with lots of hoots and hollers, smiles and signs, and bags of goodies. And it culminated in a beautiful and very special graduation ceremony that included special presentations by each student and blessing the students under the tallit (prayer shawl).

It seems fitting that we would experience an exceptional graduation for this class for whom another momentous occasion and vivid memory was of the snowstorm that extended their 5th grade trip to Islandwood by an extra day. This 8th grade class had to accept too many disappointments this year, including the biggest disappointment of all when we had to cancel their class trip to Israel. Throughout it all our students embraced the challenges of the time, and the PJA staff made the run-up to the end of their PJA experience truly remarkable. We are so PJA Proud of all of our teachers, students, and families for all that they have accomplished in this “unprecedented” year.
