This one-hour documentary explores how the theatre-making experience, and William Shakespeare’s comedic work, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in particular, can help us understand what bonds us together in the human quest for peace and happiness. The film takes us behind the scenes of the Umatilla Correctional Institution in Eastern Oregon, as inmate volunteers with no previous theatre experience rehearse and perform the play. Along the way, we hear their personal stories of pain and regret, compassion and hope. As in the play itself, there is transformation and love. Post Production Director (and also PJA alumn parent!) Enie Vaisburd and Producer Johnny Stallings will host a Q&A following. Invited guests include Actors appearing in the film (now released).
Please note: This film contains sensitive subjects and may not be suitable for younger audiences (recommended for ages 12+).
